This dimensional book adds a new variation to the linear narrative model.
The book details the steps of making a bed. The book begins and ends with
a macro-photo of the texture of sheets. The origami-esque format of the book
portrays both the cyclical and layered qualities of making a bed. Just like a bed,
you must unmake and make it again.
The initial flaps are opened to reveal the initial steps of adding a top sheet.
The book is disorienting, with no definite "first page," further evoking the
cyclical and repetitious qualities of the ritual of bed-making.
Next, the second level of flaps are opened.
The second set of flaps reveal a more traditional, saddle-stitched
set of signatures. The inner book is framed by the steps of adding
a blanket and tucking the corners. The narrative exists within itself,
adding chronological levels and physical layers to the book.
The inner book holds the final steps of the process.
Finally, the book comes full circle once more with the sheet texture.
Then the book can be folded up over again.
